Once upon a time, I had a charming little Etsy shop named JewelryNiche. But I had to close it because I no longer had the time to manage it. Last fall, I moved back home. As I started trying to blend together artifacts from past lives with ones from my current life, I realized I have a lot of craft supplies and jewelry pieces that never made it into the original shop. So now that I have more free time, I thought I’d open a new shop and see if I can find new homes for some of this stuff.
I’ve made or styled wearables most of my life. It started with friendship pins and bracelets, which I continued to make through college. From there, I branched out to needlepointed accessories made from plastic canvas, and eventually into chainmail and wrapped wire jewelry. My work has graced auctions supporting literacy and breast cancer awareness, and Miss Teen Washington prize packages. I love playing with designs and ideas and seeing where they lead me, but I’m a simple girl at heart and that’s reflected in my designs.
After a lifetime of not being able to grasp crochet, I have finally found a learning method that works for me, which means I’ll be using up my tiny yarn stash to practice. But I moved from the chilly Pacific Northwest to South Texas, which means I’ll need places for these pieces to go. I’m hoping to expand my knowledge into knitting, so there’s more to look forward to from this fledgling shop!
I am not accepting requests or commissions at this time, mainly because I still really don’t know what I’ve got. If that changes, I’ll update this space.
